LINCOLNTON
- Mattie Elizabeth Wallace Carter, age 77, of Lincolnton passed away Monday, February 21, 2010 at Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton. Born July 31, 1933 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Ethie Knight Wallace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Robert Chambers, 2nd husband, Paul Carter, 7 brothers and 2 sisters.
She is survived by: Son: Kenneth Wallace and wife Jeanine of Granite Falls, NC
2 Daughters: Nancy Smith of Hickory Pat Minish of Lincolnton
9 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren
Brother: Clarence Wallace of Hickory 2 Sisters: Blanche Mull and Mary Sigmon, both of Conover
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, February 25, 2010 at Burke Mortuary in Newton with Pastor Billy Ray Ramseur and Pastor Wayne White officiating.
Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February, 24, 2011 from 7:00-8:30 p.m.at Burke Mortuary in Newton and at other times at the home of Kenneth Minish, 808 3rd St SE in Conover.
